Abstract

This article examines the adverse environmental, agricultural, and health impacts of overuse of chemical fertilizers. It notes that overuse of fertilizers causes soil degradation, water and air pollution. It also reduces the nutritional value of plants and causes the accumulation of heavy metals and nitrates that are harmful to human health. The article proposes methods for the efficient and responsible use of fertilizers and shows the possibilities for sustainable agricultural development through the use of organic and alternative methods
