Biography
Zhanbolot Tursunbaev is an outstanding scientist and experienced manager in the field of higher education and science. He graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Kyrgyz Architectural and Construction Institute with a specialisation in Lifting and Transport, Construction and Road Machines. He started his professional career in 1995 at the Osh Technological University (OshTU) as a laboratory assistant at the Department of Automobile Transport. Soon his talent and diligence allowed him to take the position of a lecturer and then an associate professor. In 2005, he defended his PhD thesis on renewable energy sources, which was an important milestone in his scientific career
From 2009 to 2019, he headed the Department of Automobile Transport of Osh State University, concurrently holding administrative positions: Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Acting Dean, Director of the Department of Development and Investment. In 2021, he was appointed Vice-Rector for Investment and Strategic Development of Osh State University.
Since September 2022, Zhanbolot Tursunbaev has been the Rector of OshTU, continuing to actively develop the scientific and educational sphere, introducing innovative technologies and international standards into the higher education system of Kyrgyzstan.
He is the author of numerous scientific publications, has a patent for invention, participated in international conferences and seminars, including on solar energy in China. He holds prestigious awards, including a grant from the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, certificates of honour from the Ministry of Education and Science, and the title ‘Excellent Educator of the Kyrgyz Republic’.
Zhanbolot Tursunbaev is the author of a number of significant scientific publications in the field of energy, renewable energy sources and thermodynamic processes. His works are devoted to researching the efficiency of power installations, analysing heat losses, and introducing innovative technologies in the field of alternative energy.
